METHOD OF APPLICATION
Heat Transfer Vinyl
This is the most common method in the Apparel Studio to decorate shirts.
Perfect for simple designs and fewer colors.
Quick to cutout with a machine and a breeze to heat press.
It comes in various brands that provide an economy option or thin and soft feel vinyl.
Generally best for smaller orders. The more shirts ordered, the more it can cost because it is labor intensive.
Screen Printing
Screenprinting offers the classic look and feel.
The design is printed with ink onto the apparel.
This provides the most durable finish and softest feel as it becomes part of the shirt wash after wash.
It is easy to print the largest orders of shirts with this precise and repeatable process.
A setup fee of $30 is charged to build the screen of your design.
DTF Transfers
DTF stands for Direct To Film. Your design is printed on a clear transfer sheet and then pressed onto apparel with a heat press.
DTF transfers are the best option for very detailed, bright, full color graphics. They are also the best for large graphics, up to 12”x18”. Transfers are extremely durable and offer a smooth feel.
The cost of each transfer, and there for each shirt, goes down drastically as the order quantity goes up.
At Giant Thirst we use Supacolor and TKO Transfers.
