Forester Targets
I started making disc golf targets when I first designed a course on the family ranch. I was just into throwing discs for a year or so and wanted to try something new. The first course was a 9 hole layout that had targets make out of metal siding rolled into a cylinder and riveted. These tone poles only lasted a few months before I made my “upgrade” to 3 coffee cans joined together with rings. These did sound better and I think looked very sharp. I then began the process of designing and building a full fledge target with chains for catching. I did not have the metal, the equipment or the expertise to build them from metal…but did have a woodshop and some skill. I built the first target completely from willow trees I harvested from the bottom land. The targets and passion to create them has only gotten stronger.
Every Forester26 target meets PDGA championship specifications. Forester18 targets meet specifications for a standard PDGA classification.
Modern Forester Targets are made with 2x2 douglas fir boards. This is durable and gives the basket a clean look with sharp and uniform look.
Rustic Forester Targets are made with 2” round posts. The posts come treated with preservative before they are stained and clear coated making Rustic targets very weather resistant.
Every standard Forester Target is made with:
Titebond III waterproof glue
Coated deck screws
Zinc-coated chain and eye screws
Outdoor stain (available in 3 colors)
Helmsman Spar Varnish outdoor clear coat.
Targets are available for pick up only and for delivery within 30 miles of my shop. An economical way to ship a target is being looked into.
